Aaron Lloydd – Musical Director

Aaron is a Wellington based New Zealand composer, bass trombonist and conductor. He has a strong brass band background and has written for a wide range of ensembles. His works have been performed and recorded by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, Wellington Brass, the New Zealand String Quartet and the Wellington Youth Orchestra.

Aaron has a Master’s Degree in Composition from Victoria University of Wellington and since 2016 has been Musical Director of Upper Hutt Brass.

Aaron is also a barrister, solicitor and member of the High Court of New Zealand and is Chief Legal Advisor to a prominent government ministry.

Wayne Kedzlie – President, Development Band Director

Wayne is a seasoned cornet and euphonium player, who has held a variety of playing positions, as well as executive positions, in leading brass bands around New Zealand.

Wayne leads the band as principal cornet, and as the picture suggests can be heard sounding the last post on various ANZAC parades in Upper Hutt.

Wayne has a passion for the future of the Band, and has been pivotal in securing the Bands future, and after 75 years the Band is the move to its new location on California Park.

The future of the Band is most surely its thriving youth program, and a youth band of 15 young players plus helpers can be found performing at fairs and parades around Upper Hutt.







Lance Kedzlie – Executive Officer

Nowadays a Wellington based tenor, Lance was born, bred and trained in Dunedin, and a featured artist with the Royal Dunedin Male Choir.

Lance regularly features with the Band as resident tenor and can be heard delivering stirring melodies at our annual Last Night of the Proms concert.

Lance manages the day to day operations of the Band including personnel and engagements.
