Bandroom
After more than 75 years at our current location on Maidstone Park, the Band is on the move to California Park, off California Drive, Totara Park, Upper Hutt.
The Band is indebted to Scouting New Zealand and their willingness to support the Band taking over the disused Scout Hall as our permanent home. The Mayor of Upper Hutt, Wayne Guppy, and the Council Parks and Reserves team have together been highly instrumental in facilitating the move to the new location. The Upper Hutt Council has conferred a long-term lease to the Band that secures our immediate future.
The following organisations have been financially instrumental in allowing the Band to undertake the refurbishment program – Upper Hutt Cossie Club, Hutt Mana Charitable Trust, Mitre10 Mega Upper Hutt.
The enclosed photo series charts the progress from old to new.

‘The Block Upper Hutt’ is the name of the almost on-going weekend working crews that have been in place helping renovate the new bandroom. Almost everything has been painted. The kitchen has been redesigned. A new (fancy) lighting system is in place. Electrical systems have been updated. Minor repairs have been completed. Curtains have been fitted. Vinyl flooring on the kitchen end of the building, and acoustic carpet tiles in the main hall. Work has been going on for many months, and the interior fit-out is almost done, and the band will commence rehearsing in the new space from November 2019.
